Doggie Toy Review #1. Stuffies and Ropes.

Today I thought I would review a couple of dog toy types.

1. Stuffies: Teddy bears, Beanie Babies, Doggie Stuffies, etc.
Fidget absolutely LOVES stuffies. The problem is, she destroys them. She will find a part (ear, leg, eye...) and chew it like crazy until she ends up ripping it open. The only one that has managed to survive is a sad looking Carebear teddy bear. It's ears are almost gone, it has no eyes and no legs. Just arms. It's the saddest looking stuffy I've ever seen...

The good: Dogs tend to love stuffies. They have arms and legs that flop around, making it feel like they have caught some kind of prey. Fidget loves to growl as she runs around the house shaking it to 'death'. They are very entertaining toys that dogs love.

The bad: Most stuffies tend to rip easily and some dogs will tear them up and try to eat the stuffing. These toys are only to be given under supervision. Not the best toy if your dog is a 'chewer'.
I do not recommend BEANIE toys as the plastic beans will most likely be swallowed and a trip to the vet will soon follow.

2. Ropes: Ropes are a fun toy for dogs. Fidget used to have toy ropes which she loved to fling around, play fetch and tug-of-war with.

The good: Ropes are good for 'flossing' your dog's teeth. Best used with toy-driven dogs as a training aid. Tug-of-war is our favorite game with a rope.

The bad: Strings. If given the rope to play with on her own, Fidget will try her best to rip out strings and eat them. I have found vomit filled with strings in her crate when she was younger (lesson learned, do not give these toys without supervision) Although durable at first, once they start to unravel, there's no fixing them.
